I got my start as a cake decorator in a national grocery store when I was 19. No formal training—just a ridiculous work ethic, raw artistic talent, and a brain that loves turning chaos into systems.
I worked so hard the CEO knew me by name.
At the same time, I was almost always working two jobs and raising three boys.
Eventually, I stepped into Butterfly Bakery—a tiny shop with two employees, a patched-together recipe book, zero processes, and held together with duct tape. There was no budget, no instruction manual, and plenty of problems. We had to make $5000 a week or there wouldn't be a job to come back to the next.
So, I built what I wished I’d had but couldn't afford:
structure, strategy, and marketing that actually worked.
We grew that bakery into a $1M business with systems, branding, and a loyal customer base—and when it outgrew me, I sold it to another entrepreneur with the drive to take it even further.
That experience is the backbone of Kitten & Quill.
